Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Solid State NMR Spectroscopist to join our Material & Analytical Sciences team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, expand scientific expertise, and gain insight into the drug development process.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire and interpret 1D & 2D multinuclear ssNMR data (H, C, N, F, etc.) for structure elucidation.
• Characterize pharmaceutical materials (particles, powders, suspensions, APIs, excipients, intermediates, and drug products).
• Apply quantitative ssNMR methods to analyze components in APIs and drug products.
• Combine ssNMR with complementary techniques (e.g., X-ray crystallography, molecular modeling) for 3D structural evaluation.
• Troubleshoot ssNMR experiments and manage data backup/retrieval.
• Prepare technical reports, present findings, and contribute to cross-functional teams.
• Stay current with scientific literature to design and implement innovative experiments.

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• Masters/Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (or equivalent) with 13 years of ssNMR experience applied to small molecules.
• Hands-on expertise in solid-state NMR sample prep, acquisition, and interpretation.
• Proficiency in implementing/troubleshooting ssNMR experiments and changing Bruker probes.
• Strong knowledge of molecular structures, interactions, and conformational effects.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves)

• Background in solution NMR for structure elucidation.
• Experience applying ssNMR to biological systems (proteins, membrane proteins).
• Familiarity with computational chemistry & molecular modeling tools (Gaussian, Schrdinger, Materials Studio, CCDC).
• Experience with HPC clusters & Linux environments.
• Strong track record of presenting results and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
