Occupational Therapist at Presbyterian Healthcare Services summary:

An Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients with physical and developmental disorders using therapeutic interventions to enhance rehabilitation and independence. They coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to align treatment with discharge goals and advocate for patient needs across various care settings. This role requires licensure, relevant certifications, and a commitment to evidence-based practices within a healthcare environment.

Overview:

As an Outpatient Occupational Therapist , you'll work with patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders.

Day Shift, Monday - Friday

This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree, Masters preferred
  • BLS required at the time of hire
  • NM licensure
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates and treats patients using a wide range of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of function, occupation, and developmental disorders

  • Demonstrates understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan of patients served

  • Oversees comprehensive rehabilitation programs addressing physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental needs

  • Promotes patient and caregiver self-determination by leveraging external resources to maximize independence

  • Coordinates and communicates with interdisciplinary teams involved in patient care

  • Aligns treatment efforts with discharge goals established during initial evaluation and throughout care

  • Advocates for patients’ needs and rights throughout the care process

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Provides care across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based, and home health environments
