Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Butcher to join our team and learn the skills and techniques required to become a professional butcher. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced butchers to develop your knowledge of meat preparation, customer service, food safety, and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in cutting, trimming, and preparing various meats (beef, pork, lamb, poultry, etc.)
Learn proper knife skills and safe handling techniques
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the work area
Help with packaging, labeling, and displaying meat products
Follow food safety regulations and company procedures
Provide friendly and knowledgeable service to customers
Receive and store meat deliveries
Assist with stock rotation and inventory control
Observe and learn different butchery techniques, including deboning, sausage making, and portioning
Requirements:
Genuine interest in butchery and the food industry
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Ability to work in a cold environment and handle raw meat
Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
Basic numeracy and communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
No prior experience required — full training provided
